Principal’s Message
Welcome to Osbornes Flat Primary School — a small school with strong relationships, high expectations and a genuine commitment to ensuring every child is known, supported and challenged to thrive.
Our size is one of our greatest strengths. We know our students well. We know their strengths, their interests and where they need support or challenge. Families know our staff, students know one another, and there is a strong sense of connection and community that extends well beyond the classroom.
At the heart of our school are the values of Respect, Belonging, Curiosity, Integrity and Mateship. These are more than words — they shape how we learn together, how we treat one another and the kind of young people we want our students to become.
We are equally ambitious about learning. Strong foundations in literacy and numeracy sit at the centre of our work, supported by explicit, evidence-informed teaching and increasingly consistent approaches across our classrooms. Alongside this, students experience a rich and varied education through Science, STEM, Auslan, Art, Library and our hands-on Kitchen Garden program.
We believe children learn best when they feel safe, connected and successful. Our classrooms are built around strong relationships, clear expectations and calm, predictable routines, creating the conditions in which students can engage deeply, take risks in their learning and experience success.
There is something distinctive about growing and learning in a small school. Our students have opportunities to contribute, lead, create and belong. They are not simply part of a class; they are an important part of our whole school community.
If you are considering Osbornes Flat Primary School for your child, I warmly invite you to visit us. Come and walk through our classrooms, meet our students and staff, and experience firsthand what makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.
We would love to welcome you.
On behalf of our school community, welcome — we look forward to meeting you.
Matt Brauer,
Principal
