Our School-Family Partnership

As part of our commitment to families, we maintain an open and constructive relationship with our parents, ensuring that parents come along on their child’s educational journey.

In doing so, parents should expect:

• Regular communications from the school around their child’s progress and behaviours, attitudes and friendships
• Twice yearly formal reports written by the classroom teacher on all subject areas
• Development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students who qualify, ensuring that their academic, behavioural and social-emotional progress is monitored and supported, if applicable
• Formation of Student Support Groups (SSGs) for students and their families to support the academic, behavioural and social-emotional progress of the individual, where service providers are also invited to attend, if applicable
• Ability to catch your child’s teacher before and after school, formally and informally
• Meet the teacher conversations at the beginning of the year to communicate your child’s interests, strengths and challenges.

We believe that education works best as a partnership between the home and the school, united in the shared goal of student progress and achievement.

We hold our families to the same high standards outlined in our School Values and Behaviour Matrix, just as we expect our families to uphold those standards in their interactions with school staff.
