Yackandandah Playgroup
Yackandandah playgroup is a free community-based playgroup for children from birth to 5 years and their parents/carers. We meet at the Osbornes Flat Primary School each week during the Victorian school term. We most often meet outdoors in the school grounds, however during cold or wet weather we do utilise a comfortable indoor play space to meet.
Each week thousands of playgroups meet across our country. Playgroup is a great opportunity for young children to enjoy social interactions and explore new activities in a relaxed environment. It is also a great place for parents and caregivers to meet, chat and make new connections. Playgroups help build a social and support network to assist and encourage parents and caregivers in their role.
Our playgroup is an open, welcoming group where all children are welcome no matter their circumstances or abilities. We have seen how the connections built at playgroup last well beyond the playgroup into long term friendship and support.
Children enjoy a variety of informal play activities at playgroup. Some of the things we do include:
- art, craft, painting, drawing, playdough modelling
- outdoor free play- sandpit, playground, obstacle courses, nature play
- indoor free play- we are well equipped with a variety of indoor toys
- sensory activities- sensory bins, water play, mud kitchen
- sharing a story together
We meet each Tuesday of the Victorian school term, from 9:30am to 11am, at the Osbornes Flat Primary School. New families are always welcome and we would love to meet you.
